Getting started with Rejesho

Rejesho is the member passbook, made digital. The screens follow the paper you already use, and the system does the arithmetic, the ledger and the receipts.

1. Open your institution's account

Sign up with your email or phone number and a password. You become the institution's administrator.

The setup checklist in Settings walks you through the rest, one item at a time.

2. Add branches and staff

Each person signs in with their own account, and each role sees only what it needs.

  • Collectors record repayments in the field.
  • Loan officers open loan applications.
  • Branch managers approve, disburse and close the day.
  • Finance and directors read the books and approve large loans.

3. Set your loan products and rates

Your interest, fees, penalties and approval limits are your institution's decisions. Set them once in Settings and every new loan follows them.

Once a loan is disbursed its terms are frozen, so a later change to a product never rewrites a loan that already exists.

4. Issue your first loan

Register the member, open the application, attach the documents your institution requires, and send it for approval.

Rejesho works out the total with interest and the installment, prints the contract in Swahili or English, and records the disbursement.

5. Run a collection day

The collector opens the day's sheet, types the amount each member hands over, and Rejesho splits it into principal and interest and posts it to the ledger.

Balances are always worked out from the ledger, never typed, and a mistake is corrected with a reversing entry, never by editing history.

6. SMS receipts

After each repayment is saved, the member gets an SMS receipt in Swahili from your institution's sender name. Reminders before the due day can be sent automatically.

7. Let members pay by phone

Members can pay a repayment from their own mobile money wallet with their payment number. The payment is posted and receipted without anyone typing it.

Collecting straight from borrowers' bank accounts is covered in the bank auto-debit guide.
